Player of the Week - November 23, 2009

Each Monday during the fall, one collegiate player originally reported as a recruit by AVSR is named AVSR Player of the Week for her cumulative performance during the current season.

Player of the Week:Anzelika Lukjanska

Sophomore;5' 11"OH;Frank Phillips College.
Home:Daugavpils, Latvia.

Last week:Led all players in kills and aces at the 16-team NJCAA National Championship tourney. Lukjanska scored 71 kills (3.94/set), 12 aces (0.67/set), and 73 digs (4.1/set) while anchoring FPC's serve reception, boosting the 10th-seeded Plainswomen to an eighth-place finish. For the season she led FPC in kills, digs, and aces as the team won its fourth consecutive Region V title.

Previously named AVSR Player of the Week on Nov. 16, 2009.

Last week:Was named Northeast Conference Player of the Year on Friday, then starred at the NEC championship tourney. Simic scored 4.3 kills per set at .333 efficiency and added 16 digs in sweeps of Sacred Heart and Robert Morris. The NEC Libero of the Year as a sophomore, Simic switched to outside hitter last fall and was the league's Player of the Week seven times in the past two seasons.
