Each Monday in the fall, one collegiate player originally reported as a recruit by AVSR is named AVSR Player of the Week for her performance in the past week and current season.

Player of the Week:Elzbieta Klein

Sophomore; 6'0½"Outside Hitter

Last week’s action:
• Powering Colby to its best season in 30 years, Klein ranks third among all NJCAA Division I hitters with 478 kills. The Trojans’ 27-13 record is their best since a 1981 mark of 32-11.
• Klein led Colby over Pratt 3-0. For the year she’s scoring 4.1 kills per set at .260 efficiency.
• At this week’s Region VI championships, Colby will aim for its first bid to the junior college national finals since 1977.

“Free-swinging attacker on the left and right sides. Terminates on a wide range of sets and shots. She's a bit wild, but she's a fundamentally sound swinger with a bold mentality and good, creative instincts. .... An emotional, confident, hard-charging competitor.”

Last week’s action:
• Exploded for 61 kills in three matches, averaging 4.7 kills per set at .414 efficiency. She led TWU over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Incarnate Word after a loss at Texas A&M-Commerce.
• Has been named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week three times this year.
