Player of the Week: April 17, 2017

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Spring Week #7: Erika Zembyla

Last Week:

• Zembyla won three of four beach matches at the No. 1 flight for UAB.
• She teamed with junior Avery Hoven to defeat Tennessee-Martin and Lincoln Memorial.  The pair split two matches against New Mexico.
• Zembyla has been UAB’s top indoor and beach player since transferring in last fall.  She’s the indoor team’s go-to hitter.  Previously she was a junior college star at Hillsborough Community College in Florida.
• Zembyla competed in Cyprus for the beach and indoor national teams, playing at both the junior and women’s levels.
