Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #5: Radi Marinova

Long Beach State University.

Big West Conference, NCAA Division I.

Reported to coaches in 2016 by AVSR Global.

Freshman.  6'1" Middle Blocker/Opposite.

Latest Action:

• Marinova has emerged as Long Beach State’s top freshman since she broke into the starting lineup two weeks ago.
• The 49ers won three of their last four matches, and Marinova attacked at .348 efficiency, switching between middle and opposite.
• Long Beach State beat San Francisco, Montana State and UC Riverside before falling to Cal State Northridge.
• As a child Marinova trained in rhythmic gymnastics before taking up volleyball. She’ll compete for the 49ers’ indoor and beach teams.

Last Week:  Nieto Gómez stuffed Odessa with 10 blocks in a four-set win, and Midland raised its record to 17-2. This is Nieto Gómez’s second year as the Chaparrals’ leading middle and best all-around player.
