Player of the Week: September 17, 2018

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #4: Elena Takova

Hutchinson Community College

Reported to coaches by AVSR Global in 2016.

Sophomore.  6'0" Opposite/Outside Hitter.

Last Week:

• Takova dominated three opponents last week in the Kansas Jayhawk league. She led Hutchinson with 37 kills at .416 efficiency.
• The Blue Dragons swept Dodge City and Garden City 3-0 but lost at Colby 3-2. Takova led both teams at Colby with 20 kills.
• Takova, a left-hander, transferred to Hutchinson last spring after one semester at Northwest College in Wyoming.
• She is Hutchinson’s top attacker this season, averaging 2.5 kills per set at .236 efficiency.
• Takova’s family includes three generations of competitive volleyball players. Her grandfather was among the best in Bulgaria.
