Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Spring Week #2: Laura Parts

San Jose State University.

Mountain West Conference, NCAA Division I.

Reported to coaches in 2015 by AVSR Global.

6'2" Sophomore. Beach and indoor.

Latest Action:

• Parts won five of her first six matches to open the beach season.
• She teamed with Kaitlynn Zdroik in wins over Stanford, Arizona State, Tulane, Boise State and Portland. They fell only to California.
• For SJSU’s indoor team Parts has switched between opposite, middle and outside hitter. She played middle for Estonia’s national team.
• Parts trained in gymnastics before focusing on volleyball.

“Long, swift and rangy. … She’s technically sharp and physically gifted. … As an attacker she’s comfortable with an elite array of plays and sets. Slides are an easy match for her speed and length.”

Latest Action:  Brinke advanced to a 6-0 record in the sand, partnering with Sasha Karelov at the No. 2 and No. 3 flights. Long Beach State is aiming to return to the national finals for the fifth time in seven years.
