Player of the Week: April 17, 2018

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Spring Week #7: Erika Zembyla

Florida International University.

Conference USA, NCAA Division I.

Reported to coaches in 2013 by AVSR Global.

6'0" Junior. Beach and indoor.

Home: Nicosia, Cyprus.

Last Week:

• Zembyla dominated two beach matches against her former team, Alabama-Birmingham. She transferred to FIU this semester.
• Zembyla and Lina Bernier partnered at the No. 2 and No. 3 flights, beating UAB 2-0 in each. FIU won the team matches 5-0 and 4-1.
• FIU ranks 10th nationally and is bidding to qualify for the national championship tournament for the first time since 2015.
• Zembyla competed in Cyprus for the beach and indoor national teams, playing at both the junior and women’s levels.
