Player of the Week: October 19, 2015

Each week during the indoor and beach seasons, one player originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

2015 Week #8: Lise Alaiwan

University of Cincinnati, American Athletic Conference, NCAA-I.
Reported to coaches as a 2015 transfer.
Home:  Villeneuve Loubet, France.
Junior, 6'2" Middle Blocker.

Last Week:

• Alaiwan continued to emerge as a leading blocker and hitter for surging Cincinnati.
• The Bearcats swept a pair of road matches at Tulane and Houston, rising to third place in the 11-team American Athletic Conference.
• Cincinnati has won four consecutive AAC matches since Alaiwan entered the starting lineup in early October.  She transferred to Cincinnati last summer from Bordeaux, France.

“Lise is a mature middle and a low-risk, high-stability recruit.  She has the length, speed and savvy to be a starter in mid-Division I. … Longtime experience against elite competition.”

Laine Cielena

Barry University, Sunshine State Conference, NCAA-II.
Reported to coaches in 2011 by AVSR Global.
Home:  Krimulda, Latvia.
Senior, 6'2" Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter.
Last Week:  Cielena led Barry at the South Region Crossover, a key step toward the NCAA Division II tourney.  Barry won two of three matches as Cielena hit .353 and posted 11 blocks.

Hana Tresnakova

San Jose State University, Mountain West Conference, NCAA-I.
Reported to coaches in 2013 by AVSR Global.
Home:  Drahelcice, Czech Republic.
Freshman, 5'11" Outside Hitter.
Last Week:  Passer-hitter Tresnakova paced the Spartans in a win over Wyoming and a loss to Colorado State.  San Jose now has an 11-10 record, its best since 2006.
