Player of the Week: October 10, 2016

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #7: Anete Brinke

Long Beach State University, Big West Conference, NCAA-I.
Reported to coaches in 2013 by AVSR Global.

Sophomore, 6'2" Outside Hitter/Opposite.

Last Week:

• Brinke sparkled in wins over Hawaii and UC Riverside, and Long Beach stayed perfect in the Big West Conference with a 6-0 record.
• Brinke scored 25 kills and 32 digs. In the five-set win over Hawaii she hit at .278 efficiency and scored three kills on four swings in the final set.
• Brinke is one of the nation's most versatile beach and indoor players. As a freshman she helped Long Beach win the Big West indoor title and place second at the beach national championship.
• Brinke missed 2015-16 with a shoulder injury. She’s back this season as a six-rotation mainstay, switching between outside hitter and opposite.
