Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Spring Week #8: Sonja Maksimovic

Hampton University.

NCAA Division I. Graduated in 2015.

Named head coach of Hampton in 2020.

Reported by AVSR Global to coaches in 2011.

6'1" Outside Hitter/Setter.

Latest Action:

• This month Maksimovic was named head volleyball coach at Hampton University, where she played outside hitter and setter.
• Maksimovic had been an assistant coach at Hampton since graduating in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree. She added a master’s in 2017.
• Maksimovic was a four-year starter at Hampton. The Pirates won the Mid-Eastern Conference championship her junior and senior years.
• Always a hitter and receiver in Serbia, Maksimovic added setting as an extra role at Hampton during her sophomore season.
• In Belgrade she played for the Poštar, Radnički and Sterija clubs.
