Player of the Week: November 7, 2022

Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

Fall Week #8: Stella Dineva

Xavier University of Louisiana.

NAIA, Red River Athletic Conference.

6'2" Sophomore.

Opposite / Outside Hitter.

Last Week:

• Xavier won twice to climb to 14-2 in the Red River Conference, and Dineva now ranks second in league play in hitting efficiency.
• The Gold Nuggets swept Louisiana Christian 3-0 in back-to-back matches on Xavier’s home court in New Orleans.
• Dineva hit at .281 efficiency with 13 kills in the matches. This season she’s scoring at a .292 rate in Red River contests and .227 overall.
• As a freshman starter last season Dineva attacked at .278 efficiency, second best on Xavier’s team.
• XULA won the Red River championship last year in its first season in the league, following 40 seasons in the Gulf Coast Conference.
• Dineva played for a year in Italy on the island of Sicily before arriving at Xavier. She competed for the Volley Catania club.
• In Bulgaria Dineva played at the junior and women’s levels for VC Maritza Plovdiv, the country’s dominant club of recent years.
