Fall Week #9: Steliyana Chakarova

Latest Action:

• Chakarova was MVP of the NJCAA Region 1 Championship, and EAC advanced to this week’s 16-team national finals in Missouri.
• EAC swept host Arizona Western 3-0 in the Region 1 final, then won at Hill College in Texas 3-0 to grab the district crown.
• Eastern Arizona will face Salt Lake Community College in the first round of the national finals, played at Missouri State-West Plains.
• EAC, 22-10 this year, last qualified for the NJCAA finals in 2017.
• Chakarova has been the Gila Monsters’ steadiest attacker this season, playing opposite and scoring at .240 efficiency.
• She played opposite and outside hitter at home in Bulgaria for the junior and women’s teams of VC Maritza and VC Beroe.
