Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.
January 30, 2023: Dagnija Medina

Earned master’s degree in 2014.

Latest Action:
• Medina was inducted into the North Florida Athletics Hall of Fame this month at a ceremony in Jacksonville.
• As an indoor player Medina keyed a turnaround in UNF’s program. She was a four-year starting middle as UNF surged in the Atlantic Sun.
• On the beach Medina was Atlantic Sun champion all three years she competed. She reached the pairs national championship each season.
• A top student, Medina won Atlantic Sun academic honors each year. She earned a master’s degree in international business.
• She was North Florida’s Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2013.
• Since graduating, Medina has worked in European government and politics, starting in Brussels with an internship at Europe’s Parliament.
• She’s now a communications specialist with Latvia’s delegation to the European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union.
