Each week of the spring and fall seasons, one player who was originally reported as a recruit by AVSR Global is named Player of the Week for an exceptional performance.

November 27, 2023: Andrea Tsvetanova

Latest Action:

• Tsvetanova led Coppin State to its first bid to the NCAA championship tournament and its best record in the team’s 37-year history.
• The Eagles beat Howard 3-0 in the Mid-Eastern Conference title match, earning the league’s NCAA bid. CSU will face Pittsburgh in Round 1.
• Tsvetanova is leading all Division I players in serving for the second consecutive year, scoring .77 aces per set through the two seasons. She has served 184 aces with only 124 errors in that time.
• Tsvetanova led the Mid-Eastern Conference in assists for the third year in a row. Coppin State posted a 13-1 MEAC mark and is 27-4 overall.
• As a sophomore Tsvetanova led the nation’s junior colleges in assists. She set Western Nebraska to the NJCAA championship tourney.
• Tsvetanova has been a world traveler since birth, as her mother was a professional setter. Their homes included Spain, Poland, Russia, Turkey, Germany, Cyprus, Azerbaijan and their native Bulgaria.
• Tsvetanova’s setting career started in 2008 with Anorthosis Famagusta of Cyprus. She played subsequently in Bulgaria for CSKA Sofia.
