Player of the Week - November 2, 2009

Each Monday during the fall, one collegiate player originally reported as a recruit by AVSR is named AVSR Player of the Week for her cumulative performance during the current season.

Player of the Week:Aleksandra Niemiec

Freshman;5' 10"LH/RH;Jefferson College (NJCAA).
Home:Chelm, Poland.

Last week:Hit .583 in her only match of the week, topping off a stellar three weeks since returning to full-time play after an early-season muscle strain. Since then, Niemiec has hit .386 (72 kills, 11 errors, 158 swings), picked up 79 digs (3.04/set), and served 14 aces (.54/set) as Jefferson has gone 7-1.

Easy jump, great arm speed, and an expert variety of shots from all zones. .... Fluid and efficient on serve-reception and defense. .... Last week:The Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week hit .424, scored 4.7 kills/set, and anchored MTSU's serve reception in 3-0 routs of New Orleans, South Alabama, and Troy. A six-rotation starter since arriving as a freshman, Kozon is leading MTSU in kills for the second consecutive year.
